Inuktun Services Ltd. (ISL) has signed an exclusive distributor agreement with Green Technology Asia Pte Ltd (GT Asia) to expand its market presence in Asia.
GT Asia will provide a regional servicing facility for ISL customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
David E. Wynne, the president and CEO of GT Asia, says the new servicing centre will help the Canadian company make inroads in the huge Asian market.
"Inuktun is expanding its market presence into Asia in a way that it hasn't done before," he says. "Previously they worked through informal distribution arrangements with affiliated companies. This will be a dedicated company set up just for Inuktun products."
Wynne, who is based in Singapore, says that the "quality and innovation" of ISL's technology will help the company in the "very important" Asian market.
"The territory includes Korea and Taiwan and both of these countries have nuclear power stations and many of the products can be used for inspection in the nuclear industry," he says. "Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are big oil and gas centres so they are also very important."
Wynne says that ISL will benefit from "the huge investments in the region in public works, especially in water and sewage which will require more sophisticated inspection systems and services."
Having a servicing centre based in Singapore will also help ISL establish and expand its presence in Asia, Wynne says.
"Singapore is the local regional headquarters for many of the multinational companies in the business sector," he says. "Many of the same companies that are being serviced by Inuktun US and Inuktun Europe will be servicing their Asian presence from Singapore."
GT Asia is an independent research and advisory firm primarily focused on bringing Canadian technologies to Asia. The Singapore-based group of associates specializes in cleantech projects and investments by providing market entry strategies and support for new products and services.
ISL also has servicing centres in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Rio Rancho, New Mexico, to serve the European and American markets.
