The NDT community meets annually at the largest conference for technicians, researchers, and other professionals to exchange information and present technologies for non-destructive testing. Inuktun’s President and CEO, Colin Dobell, InCommand’s Vice President of U.S. Operations, Wade Leach, and Southeastern Sales Rep, Marti Veatch, joined this year’s ASNT conference showcasing Inuktun’s traditional inspection systems as well as technology with newly developed scanning capabilities.
Recognizing a demand to go beyond visual inspection, Inuktun’s economical scanning crawler, the MaggUT™, was well received by ASNT conference attendees. This magnetic vehicle can be used to assess corrosion and measure metal thickness with the onboard video camera and integrated ultrasonic transducer. By adding components from companies like Olympus, Cygnus, and 2G Robotics, Inuktun is able to offer a range of solutions for NDT challenges. And, with our multi-mission, modular technology the capabilities are endless.
Inuktun demonstrated the Versatrax Vertical Crawler™ climbing a vertical tube, while the NanoMag™ navigated a steel wall display. The company also unveiled the brand new Picotrac™, a tiny version of Inuktun’s existing crawler tracks. Dobell presented a technical paper illustrating a concept for a combination of miniaturized robotic technologies that would enable engineers to inspect inside of tiny air slots underneath double shell tanks at a nuclear tanks farm.

Dobell added it was encouraging to hear references to Inuktun products in three other presentations given during the conference.
“We’ve really established ourselves in the NDT market and look forward to our multi-mission, modular technology providing all the feedback required for today’s remote inspection needs.”
