A small meaning behind the numbers

Have you ever wondered what the numbers mean in our product names? Whether it’s the Spectrum 45™ pan and tilt camera, the Versatrax 50™ pipe inspection vehicle or the VT150 Vertical Crawler™, the numbers all identify one of the biggest advantages of Inuktun’s Multi-Mission Modular (IM3™) technology

That is, the ability to inspect the smallest industrial spaces. Every number in Inuktun’s product names references either its minimum operable pipe diameter (for Versatrax™ crawlers) or the outside diameter (for Spectrum™ cameras), measured in millimetres. Inuktun has been designing and providing some of the smallest industrial inspection systems for more than two decades.

Inuktun Spectrum 45™ Pan and Tilt Inspection Camera

Inuktun Spectrum 45™ Pan and Tilt Inspection Camera

Consider the Spectrum 45™; at only 45 millimetres (1.75 inches) diameter, this robust system is frequently used for inspecting boreholes, shafts, pipes, ducting and other small access areas. The colour camera offers 360° continuous pan and 280° tilt with six high intensity LED lights for a clear image of spaces otherwise unseen, even in depths up to 150 metres (500 feet)! Available as a standalone system for visual examination inside of caissons, wells and pressure vessels, or integrated with Inuktun’s robotic crawler systems to inspect a wide range of infrastructure including piping, storage tanks and nuclear reactors, the Spectrum 45™ inspection camera offers the versatility required for the varying job demands operators face.

The SP45 addresses the market’s shortfall in size, with combined pan and tilt functionality. For entry size, image quality and even subsea applications, this 45millimetres diameter is the solution…ticks the box in every respect.

Inuktun Versatrax 50™ Miniature Pipe Inspection Vehicle

Inuktun Versatrax 50™ Miniature Pipe Inspection Vehicle

Drawing the most attention at global exhibitions and onsite product demonstrations alike is Inuktun’s newest product, the Versatrax 50™ miniature pipe inspection system. Like the name says, this remotely operated crawler can inspect pipes as small as 50 millimetres (2 inches) in diameter. A first for the industry, the Versatrax 50™ provides real-time colour video in small pipelines, ducts, channels and other tight spaces. Featuring a 4.5 kilogram (10 pound) pull rating, this small package delivers big results and raises the bar for confined space entry and inspection. Depth rated to 60 metres (200 feet) and with tether cable lengths as long as 100 metres (330 feet), the Versatrax 50™ can get to areas that are simply inaccessible with other technologies.

The numbers don’t lie. Inuktun does small solutions really well. Contact our sales team to learn more about our remote visual inspection and nondestructive testing solutions for inspecting those seemingly impossible to reach spaces now.
