Spectrum 90 Achieves NRTL Certification

To ensure product safety, Inuktun Services Ltd. has been granted certification for one of its most popular cameras.

Inuktun has received Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification for the Spectrum 90, the first amphibious camera of its kind to capable of operating to 1,000 feet underwater.

The NRTL guarantees that the pan, tilt and zoom camera meets predefined safety standards. This certification is particularly beneficial for contractors doing work for federal, state and municipal governments, many of which require NRTL to assure product safety for all of their equipment.

"Inuktun provided a Spectrum 90 camera system to TUV America for testing in their New Brighton, MN facility," said operations manager Roy Coles. "Rigorous testing was performed on the camera to get it to the approval stage." The certification process took more than two months.

"Inuktun can now provide clients a certified NRTL pan, tilt and zoom camera for use in normal pipe inspection applications," said Coles.

In addition to the NRTL certification, Inuktun recently developed a modified version of the Spectrum 90 camera that can operate at 1,000 feet underwater. The increased depth capability makes the camera ideal for use in sub-sea inspections and in offshore oil and gas facilities. The compact camera can even be attached to an underwater remotely operated vehicle, as it has been specially adapted by Inuktun for optimum performance when operating at high depths and increased pressures. The hand-held zoom camera is known for its compactness, durability and unique design. It features a 10X zoom and auto-focus capability, as well as both flood and spot lighting to maximize visibility.

The Spectrum 90 is available both in aluminum and stainless steel for use in salt water and nuclear facilities.
