The newest version of the Spectrum 90 is the first camera of its kind to operate 1,000 feet underwater. The amphibious pan, tilt and zoom camera is one of Inuktun Services Inc.'s most popular products. With a minor modification, it is now able to function at 10 times the depth.
"It was originally designed to go 100 feet deep," said chief designer Al Robinson. "My plan has always been to make it go deeper." The increased depth capability makes the Spectrum 90 ideal to use for well inspections and in offshore oil and gas facilities. The compact camera can even be attached to an underwater remotely operated vehicle, as it has been specially adapted by Inuktun for optimum performance when operating at high depths and increased pressures. "It's perfect for inspection in hazardous environments," Robinson said.
The compact zoom camera is known for its compactness, durability and unique design. It features a 10X zoom and auto-focus capability, as well as both flood and spot lighting to maximize visibility.
"I worked very hard at designing the Spectrum 90 so it is totally spherical. You can put it through a tight space and look in any direction," said Robinson.
The Spectrum 90 is available both in aluminum and stainless steel for use in salt water and nuclear facilities.
