The Itsy Bitsy Crawler Went Up the Water Tower

Inuktun’s Eastern Canada Sales Manager, Bill Tarant, decided to test our newest magnetic crawler, the MaggHD™, on a 45 metre tall water tower. Watch the complete video by clicking on the screenshot.

I’ve been working with the MaggHD this weekend and I’m impressed. The camera quality is amazing. I just had to see it in a real life application.

Potable water tank and tower inspections can be performed effortlessly with the remotely operated MaggHD™ system. The tilting camera on the vehicle provides real-time 1080p HD video, and on-board lighting allows you to see in even the darkest places. A pair of laser lines can be installed to measure the size of cracks or flaws and, with the addition of an Ultrasonic Transducer (UT), the system can be used to measure metal or coating thickness. Plus, with an underwater depth rating of 60 metres (200 feet), you can inspect the inside of even the tallest towers in-situ. But the little MaggHD™ is not just for tanks and towers … it’s also ideal for inspecting ship hulls, pipes, pressure vessels, retaining walls, or almost any steel structure. Learn more about the MaggHD™ here.
