Raising the Bar on RVI and UT at WorldNDT

We are hearing it more and more. Remote visual inspection sometimes isn’t enough. With low commodity prices and environmental compliance challenges, the need to do more with less has never been greater. Inuktun continues to add new products that offer increased capabilities at an affordable price. The most recent example is our partnership with Cygnus Instruments to develop the MaggUT™–Marine (MUM). This miniature magnetic crawler comes with a fully integrated ultrasonic testing (UT) probe for thickness measurement and a Crystal Cam® camera for remote visual inspection. Small in size and capable of underwater operation to a depth of 60 metres or 200 feet, the remote vehicle works in places where people can’t, or shouldn’t, go.

Part of the Inuktun OnSite Standard Product line, the MUM is an inexpensive solution for visually examining infrastructure and quantifying metal loss on offshore oil rigs, FPSOs, ship hulls and keels, caissons, pressure vessels and other subsea structures. With the ICON control software, automation routines can be implemented for repeated A-Scan (thickness) readings that get logged and synchronized with the video images, allowing for effortless summary report generation.

Cygnus Instruments will be exhibiting at the 19th World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing, WCNDT 2016, taking place in Munich, Germany, June 13-17th. Stop by their booth FE-84 where you can get more information on the MaggUT™–Marine. Not attending this show? Contact us now for more information.
