Today’s #InuktunInTheWild sighting is courtesy of James Fisher NDT (JF NDT) based in the UK. Offering a comprehensive range of nondestructive testing (NDT) inspection services to a wide spectrum of industry sectors, JF NDT recently partnered with Inuktun Europe Ltd. to complete a long range remote visual inspection (RVI).
Without the Versatrax 150™, JF NDT wouldn’t have been able to carry out the particularly challenging long-distance CCTV inspection. They rented the unit from Inuktun’s Aberdeen based office. According to General Manager, Thomas Irving, “NDT, collaboration and technology development is moving on at a great pace!”
The Versatrax 150™ offers up to 450 metres (1,500 feet) of tether cable and can operate in pipes as small as 150 millimetres (6 inches) in diameter. The state-of-the-art pipe inspection system offers advanced capabilities with its Multi-Mission Modular (IM3™) design; the robotic crawler can carry sonar, retrieval tools, laser profilers and NDT sensors. Well suited to a variety of inspection applications, the Versatrax 150™ is a robust workhorse designed for long pipelines, tunnels, culverts and other confined areas with a limited number of access points.
