Inuktun Sighting #85: Get the Hull Picture (and clean it too!)

Today’s #InuktunInTheWild sighting comes via the team at Inuktun Europe Ltd. who recently travelled to a client test facility to demonstrate our new magnetic crawler prototype, designed specifically for remote inspection and cleaning. Currently dubbed the “MiniMag™” (we might just change the name!), this latest addition to our Multi-Mission Modular (IM3) suite of products is ideal for a range of applications in marine, petrochemical and nuclear industries. Even though it is bigger than our other OnSite miniature magnetic crawlers, the MiniMag™ is still portable and highly manoeuvrable, as shown in these photos.

Featuring a pair of rugged aluminum Minitracs™ and the proven Spectrum 90™ PTZ camera, with options for a rear or forward-facing Crystal Cam®, the base system will soon be offered as part of Inuktun’s OnDemand Specialty Systems product line. And, because it has been engineered with our IM3 technology, the MiniMag™ can be quickly adapted to support almost any sensor or tool you need. Despite its small size, it can deliver large payloads including cameras, sonars, cleaning brushes, NDT tools, or even water-jetting systems; it’s the perfect solution for cleaning and inspecting ship hulls, storage tanks, retaining walls, large steel pilings, or almost any ferrous surface above or below the waterline.

Want to see it for yourself? All of Inuktun’s global offices can arrange for demonstrations of our robotic crawler and camera products. Learn exactly how our IM3 technology can solve your remote visual inspection and non-destructive testing challenges by arranging your own demo today!
