Today’s #InuktunInTheWild sighting features the VT150 Vertical Crawler™ spotted at an LNG plant in Australia. An energy leader sought out Inuktun when they were looking for advanced technology that would enable them to undertake an extremely difficult inspection through intricate pipework at their site. They needed to complete standard structural integrity assessment to comply with regulatory requirements for hazardous area plant zones. Inuktun’s OnDemand Specialty System, the VT150 Vertical Crawler™ was enlisted with the support of Inuktun’s Australian channel partner, Nexxis. A successful inspection was completed in short order through the difficult pipework, a feat not easily accomplished by any other available technology on the market.
Key inspections were performed with the VT150 Vertical Crawler™, particularly at the entrance point (shown below) on 700mm OD (outside diameter) pipe on both trains 1 and 2. But the most impressive part of the inspection was where the entrance on train 2 was near a vessel. It involved navigating four 90-degree bends and two vertical sections where the pipe was 900mm OD. Amazing!
