…But don’t smoke it! With Canada’s recent legalization of cannabis, we couldn’t help ourselves from a pipe pun. Today we take a look at the Versatrax™ pipe inspection systems used for pipeline integrity assessments that prevent leaks and ensure operational safety.
Our Versatrax™ pipe inspection robotic crawlers can be found inspecting difficult and unpiggable pipelines; process, sewer and storm drains; trenchless construction and civil engineering operations; high energy pipes; boilers, furnace tubes and HVAC ducting; and transmission and distribution lines.
Inuktun’s Pipe Inspection Robotic Crawlers
The Versatrax 50™ is a remotely operated crawler vehicle for inspecting pipes as small as 50 millimetres (2 inches) in diameter. Based on the Picotrac™ transporter modules and the Crystal Cam® Onyx camera, the Versatrax 50™ raises the bar for confined space entry and inspection. The standard crawler vehicle comes with a simple camera and LED lighting, but it can easily be outfitted with other sensors for specific client needs.
Versatrax 100™ Mark II
This next generation robotic crawler employs proven IM3™ (Inuktun Multi-Mission Modular) technology designed to access spaces as small as 100 millimetres (4 inches). Helping operators reach the unreachable and see the unseen, the standard Versatrax 100™ Mark II delivers high quality video with Inuktun’s Spectrum 45™ pan and tilt inspection camera. A pair of rugged Microtrac™ transporter modules can be arranged in either parallel or inline configuration to handle a wide range of pipe sizes and conditions.
The Versatrax 150™ pipe crawler system is a robust workhorse designed for the inspection of long pipelines, tunnels, culverts and other confined areas with a limited number of access points. The Versatrax 150™ is offered with two standard chassis configurations: inline for smaller diameter pipes, and a steerable parallel setup for larger pipes or open areas. Built around IM3™ technology, the Versatrax 150™ is readily adaptable for different Spectrum™ cameras, sensors and tooling to perform comprehensive inspections across a range of industries.
Versatrax 150™ Mark II
Expanding on the original Versatrax 150™, the Mark II is available with up to 1,000 metres (3,300 feet) of copper tether cable and can operate in pipes as small as 150 millimetres (6 inches) in diameter. The Versatrax 150™ Mark II can carry sonar, retrieval tools, laser profilers and NDT sensors; with the remotely operated camera/sensor raise motor, the system offers highly detailed inspections of even the most challenging pipelines.
The Versatrax 300™ is the solution to long range pipe inspection challenges. Able to inspect more than two kilometres (1.2 miles) of pipe in a single run, the Versatrax 300™ includes up to three onboard video cameras, multiple sensor options, and is operable in pipe as small as 300 millimetre (12 inch) internal diameter. Versatile and customizable, the Versatrax 300™ can deploy sensors and tooling in even the most remote and unaccommodating environments and locations. All units are configurable for round pipe or flat surface operation, and adjustable for a range of diameters.
The integrity of pipelines relies on the integrity of its inspection equipment. Inuktun’s proven cameras and crawlers offer accurate, reliable and repeatable data in real time, 24/7/360°.
