Inuktun Sighting #121: Lose the Unforeseen Circumstances

Spotted: Inuktun’s VT100 Vertical Crawler™. This week’s #InuktunInTheWild sighting of the OnDemand Specialty System is a rental unit that is currently enroute to Brazil for its next remote visual inspection (RVI) job.

Driven by three Microtracs™ and an expandable tripod chassis, the VT100 Vertical Crawler™ can easily traverse multiple bends and vertical pipe segments found on land or under water; the marine grade aluminum and stainless steel vehicle is depth rated to 30 metres (100 feet). With the ability to inspect runs as long as 180 metres (600 feet), in 200 to 450 millimetre (8 to 18 inch) diameter pipe, the VT100 Vertical Crawler™ gives operators a full picture of pipe internals with the onboard Spectrum 45™ pan and tilt camera. The Versatrax™ crawler is regularly utilized in marine, nuclear, oil and gas, and petrochemical industries, but the opportunities are virtually endless for this adaptable robotic system. Check out this case study from an offshore facility in the North Sea.

The VT100 Vertical Crawler™ goes where humans can’t or shouldn’t go and sees what is otherwise unseen. Contact our sales team to learn how the VT100 Vertical Crawler™ can improve your structural integrity assessments and nondestructive testing (NDT) applications.
