You may recall a pre-announcement for the Versatrax 100™ Mark II Cable Drive, and today we’re excited to share a close up look at this configuration option that allows the system to climb cables, wires or ropes. Doubling as a probe pusher for remotely deploying sensors and devices into pipes, ducts and confined spaces, the Cable Drive truly expands the capabilities of the already quite adaptable Versatrax 100™ Mark II modular crawler.
The Cable Drive employs the Mark II’s Microtrac™ crawler tracks, rearranged to clamp onto the outside of the cable, wire, rope, or small diameter pipe. The vehicle connects directly to the Versatrax 100™ Mark II tether cable and uses the same control, power and camera technology. Because it is based on our IM3™ (Inuktun Multi-Mission Modular) technology, repurposing cameras, tools or other sensors is a breeze.
