Inuktun Sighting #57: BroadSea ROV uses the MaggUT™ - Marine for FPSO Cleaning

When BroadSea ROV Ltd. of Fraserburgh, Scotland, was recently asked by a major operator in the North Sea to look at the problem of marine growth on the hull of an FPSO (floating production storage and offloading), they immediately looked at the range of magnetic crawler vehicles available from Inuktun. Following the purchase of an Inuktun MaggUT™ - Marine (MUM) with the optional adjustable magnetic chassis, BroadSea mounted a Cavijet sprayer on the crawler and carried out a field demonstration of the system for their client. The system was deployed by one man and driven five metres down and 15 metres along the hull to an area for testing. The vehicle successfully removed a large area of kelp and was able to operate in air, underwater and in the splash zone.
