In last Friday’s blog post, “Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail”, we reacted to the speculation whether Hurricane Katrina’s devastation could have been minimized with scheduled inspections providing conditional assessment of the levees in Louisiana and related infrastructure. Offering a lineup of Multi-Mission, Modular (IM3) technology, Inuktun designs and builds robotic cameras and crawlers used for structural integrity evaluation and preventative maintenance. Inuktun Sighting #49: Subsea 7 and PSO take the Long View

SPOTTED: The Versatrax 150™ inline crawler inspecting 1500 metre pipeline sections for a total distance of 3600 metres of 12 inch diameter pipe. The remote visual inspection, performed by PSO, was requested by Subsea 7 to document the condition of welds in the pipeline located at the North Sea Spoolbase in Vigra, Norway. According to PSO’s Product Manager Inspection & Subsea, Bård Arve Valstad, mobilization was less than one day and the client was very impressed that the job went according to a competitive time and cost schedule.
